Jamie Robert
Vollmer |
Jamie Vollmer is
President of Vollmer, Inc., a consulting firm working to increase
student success by strengthening community support of America’s
schools.
Jamie is a former
businessman and attorney. He worked in the Washington D.C. law firm of
United States Congressman William Cramer until 1985, when he left to
become in-house council of the Great Midwestern Ice Cream Company
proclaimed by People Magazine to make the “Best Ice Cream in
America!” He ultimately became the company’s president.
In 1988, Jamie
became a founding member of the Iowa Business and Education Roundtable.
He served as a volunteer for two years until becoming the Roundtable’s
Executive Director in 1990, a post he held for three years.
Once a harsh critic,
he is now an articulate champion of America’s public schools. Over the
last eighteen years he has worked with school districts, chambers of
commerce and educational foundations to improve student success. His
presentations have been praised as both practical and energizing. He
uses statistics, logic and humor to deliver a positive message regarding
the future of our schools, and outlines a community-based plan to
develop human capital within schools that give all students the
opportunity to unfold their full potential.
Jamie is the author
of the forth-coming book, Stand Up for Public Schools. He has
written and produced the videos, Why Our Schools Need to Change,
Teachers are Heroes, and Building Support for America’s Schools.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pennsylvania State University
and a Juris Doctor from Catholic University in Washington, DC.

Dr.
Stephen Uebbing |
Steve Uebbing comes to the Warner School as the
former superintendent of the Canandaigua City School District.
He brings extensive school and district experience. He taught
social studies, coached, and advised student clubs as a teacher
in the Letchworth Central School for a decade, before becoming
the high school principal and then superintendent of the Fort
Plain Central School.
As superintendent in Canandaigua since 1988,
Uebbing's accomplishments include: the development and
implementation of four five-year strategic "Plans for
Excellence"; participation in planning and implementing nearly
$80 million in capital improvements; incorporation of
organization-wide participatory decision-making and planning;
incorporation of principled collective bargaining; development
and implementation of instructional improvement models;
development of partnerships with area and national corporations;
development of nationally cited character education initiative;
and focused improvement resulting in high levels of student
performance.
During Uebbing's tenure, Canandaigua Academy has
been named a national Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, the
Middle School has been labeled "one of the best in the country"
by Paul George of the University of Florida, a nationally
recognized Middle School authority, and both the Primary and
Elementary Schools have successfully completed the rigorous
Middle States Accreditation process, an unusual distinction for
the K-5 grade levels.
At Warner, Uebbing will teach
courses on educational leadership with a focus on K-12 schools
and educational decision-making. His research interests are in
leadership development, organizational change, law and policy.
He is also interested in comparative education and K-12/higher
education collaboration. Articles by Uebbing have appeared in

International.
Uebbing is a frequent speaker at state and national conferences.

Peggy J. Wozniak, Ed.D., Superintendent,
Binghamton City Schools |
Peggy
Wozniak has been the superintendent of the Binghamton City Schools since
2002. She was previously superintendent of the Mammoth Lakes Unified
School District in Mammoth Lakes, California. In 2000 she was named the
Superintendent of the Year by the Association of California School
Administrators. Dr. Wozniak has been an educator for 36 years, 23 years
as a school administrator including 11 years as a superintendent. Dr.
Wozniak received her B.A. from Alfred University, her M.S. in Education
from the State University College of NY at Buffalo, and earned her
Doctorate in Educational Management from the University of La Verne in
California.
Dr. Wozniak previously served on the
faculty of the California School Boards Association and assisted in the
development of the Masters in Governance Program. Dr. Wozniak trained
school board members and superintendents throughout California on
effective governance and presented on this topic at annual California
School Board Conferences. She is currently on the faculty of the
Transition to the Superintendency Program and presents on the
Superintendency and the Board of Education throughout New York State.

Dan Liebert, Principal and Chief
Academic Officer
Tech Valley High School, Troy |
Mr. Liebert, who has spent 20 years as a teacher, most recently was the
co-founder and director of Albany High School’s “Essential School,” part
of a national movement that places great emphasis on project-based
learning environments with student externships – which will be
hallmarks of Tech Valley High. He has extensive experience in developing
curriculum and professional development programs for teachers as well as
extensive knowledge of the New York State learning standards and testing
systems.
As
principal and chief academic officer, Mr. Liebert is responsible for the
supervision and outcome of all aspects of Tech Valley High’s
student-centered, project-based learning educational program.
“Tech Valley High [is] a center for educational innovation and a source
of educational professional development,” Mr. Liebert said. “It [is] a
catalyst for improvement of secondary education throughout the region.
Many areas schools will benefit from having an innovative model right
here in the area where teachers, parents, business people, academics
from higher education can see, touch and experience creative secondary
education.”
