CENTER FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING
The Association of Small City School
Districts’ Center for School Improvement Planning is currently updating
its benchmark report with current data and this new report will be
available for distribution shortly. In 2007-08, many of our member
districts, along with school districts outside of the Association,
ordered their copy of the benchmark report and have found it useful for
planning in the areas of finance, academics and administration. Our
finance consultant, Charles Winters, has expanded the report to include
an easy-to-follow narrative in order to navigate the huge amount of data
included in the report. Mr. Winters uses comparable districts,
determined by a number of variables, to give a clear picture of a
district’s strengths and areas that need attention. The Center has also
provided additional consulting services to several SCSD districts to
assist analyzing data, reviewing district performance and developing
action plans.

all 66 small city school districts’ legislators in an effort to help them
understand that although small cities are located throughout the state, they
have many commonalities and that as legislators, working as a group to address
small cities’ concerns would benefit their constituents and the state as a whole
as well. -
